    The 2015 Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) Global Event, co-organised by DG DEVCO and the JRC at the JRC Ispra site in the context of EXPO Milan 2015, aims to raise awareness on IPC, present key scientific outputs, get feedback from policy makers on innovations for chronic food insecurity and nutrition classification, and showcase the link between IPC and decision-making.

    This high level conference will be the official launch of a series of discussions that the EU Scientific Steering Committee for Expo will follow during the course of the six months of the Expo. It will set in motion a process which will lead to a set of recommendations for decision makers on future priorities for research, development and innovation in the food and agricultural sector. This process will also indicate how the recommendations can best be implemented both within the EU institutions and beyond after the EXPO.

    The first Global Soil Biodiversity Conference, organised by the Global Soil Biodiversity Intitiative and the EcoFINDERS project team, will be held from 2-5 December 2014 at the Palais des Congres, Dijon, France.

    The EU will officially present the activities it has planned for the World Exhibition in Milan 2015 on 11- 14 November.  The new European Commission and the European Parliament will meet with Member States to coordinate their work at Expo 2015.  For the first time, information and designs of the EU and national pavilions will be on display during this three-day exhibition. Thematic presentations, interactive displays and a virtual tour of the EU Pavilion will be available to all participants, to get the flavour of the future Expo site.
