This training course will assist laboratory quality managers and practitioners to understand how to implement the technical requirements of the ISO IEC-17025 in the laboratory in an effective and organised way.

  2. 8 Jun 2015
    11 Jun 2015

The biennial ICRM conference gathers both leading experts and beginners and is providing an opportunity for exchange of information on the development of techniques and new applications of radionuclide metrology, and to encourage international cooperation in this field.

  3. 4 Mar 2015
    5 Mar 2015

The main objective of the workshop is to present the use of Neutron Resonance Densitometry (NRD) as a non-destructive analysis (NDA) technique to characterise nuclear materials.

  4. 15 Dec 2014
    19 Dec 2014

This school is intended to provide a practical introduction to the analysis of measured neutron-induced resonance reaction data and to the processing of experimental and evaluated data. Lectures and hands-on computer exercises will be alternated. Topics include neutron-induced reactions, R-matrix theory, neutron time-of-flight measurements, uncertainty and covariance assessment, data formats (ENDF, EXFOR), use of the resonance analysis code REFIT and related topics.

  5. 18 Nov 2014
    21 Nov 2014

The training will cover methods and procedures in the application of gamma-ray spectrometry to environmental and food samples.

  6. 14 Nov 2014

On November 14, 2014 the European Union Reference Laboratory for Feed Additives (EURL-FA) celebrates its 10th anniversary with colleagues from DG Health and Consumers of the European Commission, the European Food Safety Authority, the National Reference Laboratories and industry representatives. A review of the activities during the last 10 years will be presented and feedback from all main stakeholders will be given. The event will also give the opportunity to exchange views and expectations on the activities of the EURL-FA in the future, from a policy support perspective.

  7. 13 Nov 2014

The European Union Reference Laboratory for Feed Additives (EURL-FA) hosted at the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission, Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements (IRMM) in Geel is composed of two branches, which are the EURL-FA Authorisation and the EURL-FA Control. The EURL-FA is supported for these two tasks by two networks of National Reference Laboratories (NRLs). The organisation of the workshop foresees that the two networks have separate sessions to address the topics that are specific to their remit, but also joint sessions to discuss issues that both networks have in common.

    30 Oct 2014

In the frame of JRC's role as a service supporting all Commission DGs with its knowledge and expertise, JRC-IRMM will provide a specially tailored three-day workshop entitled "How to interpret technical requirements of the ISO/IEC-17025 standard for analytical measurements" for DG Health and Consumer's Food and Veterinary Office (FVO).

  9. 8 Oct 2014
    10 Oct 2014

This course provides participants with the theoretical basis for the estimation of measurement uncertainty and establishment of traceability. The course is intended for laboratory managers and practitioners in analytical laboratories who use reference materials for statistical quality control, method validation and calibration and need to assess measurement uncertainties on customer’s demand or as requirement of ISO 17025.

  10. 30 Sep 2014
    2 Oct 2014

This event aims to provide an opportunity for experts to become TrainMiC® Authorised Trainers on how to interpret the metrological requirements of the ISO/IEC-17025 for chemical and bio-analytical measurements.
