    The 6th Annual Conference of the Global Flood Partnership will take place in Ispra on 29, 30 June and 1 July. Fifty flood experts from organisations like the JRC, NASA, ECMWF, the World Food Program, the Red Cross and Red Crescent as well as from countries like Brasil, Mozambique, India, Sri Lanka, will convene to discuss the latest developments on flood forecasting, recording, and flood risk mitigation. The meeting is co-organised with the Red Cross/Red Crescent Climate Centre and Dartmouth Flood Observatory.

    JRC workshop on control and management of agricultural land in the Integrated Administration and Control System (IACS), which will be organised from Monday 23 May (9.00 AM) to Wednesday 25 May (4.00 PM) in Baveno (VB), at Grand Hotel Dino.

    This workshop integrates established elements of our Control with Remote Sensing (CwRS) campaign 2016 Kick-off event, Control Methods workshop and Land Parcel Identification System (LPIS) workshop. Furthermore, its scope will be extended to the area-based schemes of the 2nd pillar of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).

It will promote the CORDEX vision to advance and coordinate the science and application of regional climate downscaling through global partnerships.

    The State of the World’s Plants Symposium will accompany the launch of a ground-breaking new report highlighting the global status of plants, to be released on 10 May 2016. An annual review of the major issues affecting plant diversity and abundance, the State of the World’s Plants report will provide baseline data on important indicator metrics that will tell us how plants are faring and how this is changing over time.

    The objectives of the AfriGEOSS Symposium 2016 "Earth Observations for the Africa We Want" are to understand the role of Earth Observations in the implementation of African policies for sustainable development and to identify means and ways for mainstreaming Earth Observations in the decision-making processes in Africa. The symposium will also review the AfriGEOSS implementation approach and develop a detailed technical and financial programme and build synergies with GEO initiatives and international initiatives relevant to Africa with continental initiatives.

    The International Radiation Symposium (IRS) is held every four years to provide a forum for the presentation of the best and latest research in Atmospheric Radiation in its many forms.
