The visit included European Institutions and a special event at the Hessen Representation in Brussels in which the young researchers presented their work to selected guests.
It should be mentioned that the group of Robin Braun, Anselm Dewald and Phillipp Mandler were awarded with the first prize in the discipline of technics. They will also participate in the 26th European Union Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS) that will take place in September 2014 in Warsaw.
On 9 July - the last day of their invited trip to Belgium - the 10 young scientists accompanied by one teacher and representatives from the German Land Hessen visited the JRC-IRMM in Geel. They visited selected laboratories and were given a short introduction into the work of the European Commission's JRC and of the JRC-IRMM. A highlight was a special lecture session in which the students were presenting their competition projects to an audience of JRC-IRMM scientists:
