    FiveVB is a consortium founded by the European Green Vehicle Initiative (EGVI) within Horizon 2020 program. The JRC plays an active role in the characterization of the newly developed 5 V battery technology. The batteries, manufactured by the consortium are characterized in the experimental facility of Battery Testing for Safe Electrification of Transport (BESTEST) in Petten by using cycling and post mortem analysis.

    Detecting the presence of nanoparticles in consumer products is an enduring challenge for analytical laboratories.

    Although many different techniques can potentially be used to measure the dimension of objects smaller than a 1/10000 of a millimetre, in practice, the results obtained using different methods may not always prove to be consistent.

    From the 27th June as part of the 300th Birthday of the City of Karlsruhe, EFFEKTE 2015 transforms the palace (schloss) gardens of Karlsruhe into a huge science experience where visitors can enjoy live experiments, demonstrations, science shows and a varied stage program.
