    The Disaster Risk Management Knowledge Centre (DRMKC) is organising its first seminar, which will address important aspects of Disaster Risk Management including risk assessments, early warning, and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. Up to 100 experts from private and public organisations from the EU and international organisations are expected to participate in plenary and break-out sessions, with ample time for debate in round table discussions.

The event will be opened by JRC Director-General Vladimír Šucha and Chair of the JRC Board of Governors Walter Mönig as well as Annette Grüters-Kieslich, Vice-President, Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, and include a keynote by Apollonia Miola, JRC Institute for Environment and Sustainability.

    The JRC and the Italian LCA Network are organising a three-day scientific conference on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and food, to discuss the role of LCA and present the latest research on the EXPO 2015 topics.

    It will be held on 6-7 October 2015 at Stresa on the Lake Maggiore, in Italy; on 8 October 2015, a special session will be held in the EU Pavilion at the EXPO 2015 site in Milan.
