Workshop on 'Indicators and Data for Climate Resilient Development: from data to information and knowledge to policy actions'

Mar 25 2015
Mar 25 2015

The Europen Commission's JRC-IES and the Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development (DG DEVCO C2) organise a workshop “Indicators and data for Climate resilient Development: from data to information and knowledge to policy actions."
The final objective of this workshop is the identification of a core set of indicators and data sets with a global coverage for the key determinants of climate resilient development  (natural hazards related to climate change, vulnerability, adaptive capacity, mitigation, resilience and development) to guide policy actions in this area.
It will offer an opportunity for knowledge sharing between experts, scientists and practitioners, thereby establishing an open forum on climate resilient development which will be supported by a web knowledge platform.

FINAL AGENDA - 25th March 2015

9:30 - 10:45 I. Indicators and selection criteria

1) Introduction of the Global Climate Change Alliance (GCCA) programme - E. Coyette, DG DEVCO C2

2) Climate resilient development - A. Miola, EU JRC

15:45 Round table

26th March, 2015 from 9:30 to 12:00

We will continue the discussion by analysing fit-for-purpose indicators. No specific agenda has been set, but we will continue the discussion on ex-ante and ex-post indicators for climate resilient development.
