We are doing science for policy
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is the European Commission's science and knowledge service which employs scientists to carry out research in order to provide independent scientific advice and support to EU policy.
Standardisation and harmonisation of methods and equipments fulfil multiple functions in engineering and the engineering sciences.
The proposed workshop focuses on methods to characterise the mechanical properties of materials and components by experimental and numerical means. The participants are going to exchange information on both, ongoing and starting standardisation and harmonisation activities in this area, and the methods themselves, including those with a potential for harmonisation where no such activities are ongoing yet.
