We are doing science for policy
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is the European Commission's science and knowledge service which employs scientists to carry out research in order to provide independent scientific advice and support to EU policy.
As part of the bilateral cooperation between the European Commission and China, the Joint Research Centre (JRC), the Directorate-General for Environment (DG ENV) and the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences (CRAES) are organising a workshop on Air Quality.
Seven experts from CRAES and three members of the Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection will attend the workshop where joint activities on air quality and exchange on air quality management practices in China and in the EU will be discussed. The agenda also includes harmonisation of modelling and monitoring activities, and integrated assessment.
Ms Charlina Vitcheva (Deputy Director-General of the JRC) and Ms Joanna Drake (Deputy Director-General of DG ENV) will open the workshop during which the JRC-CRAES agreement will be signed.
