We are doing science for policy
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is the European Commission's science and knowledge service which employs scientists to carry out research in order to provide independent scientific advice and support to EU policy.
On 6-7 October, a group of 30 RWP Attachés visits the JRC Karlsruhe site (Directorate for Nuclear Safety and Security). Representatives of the Member States, candidate and associated countries are invited to participate as well. Priorities of the visit are presentations on decommissioning and isotopes research as well as the education and training activities at the JRC. Within the Slovakian Presidency at the Council, the programme foresees also a presentation on ERA fellowship by the Slovakian Presidency representative Mr Erik Hanzalek (SK Ministry of Education). The visit at the Nuclear Safety and Security Directorate, JRC Karlsruhe site, will be complemented with a laboratory tour of the nuclear facilities and with an official reception hosted by the Technology Region Karlsruhe and by the lord Mayor of Karlsruhe.
