We are doing science for policy
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is the European Commission's science and knowledge service which employs scientists to carry out research in order to provide independent scientific advice and support to EU policy.
On the 23rd of November the JRC Karlsruhe will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the EURATOM treaty. The JRC will mark this milestone with a celebration dedicated to the Treaty’s achievements, particularly to the role and benefits of EURATOM supporting research, safety and safeguarding the peaceful use of nuclear energy in Europe. The opening session will include a welcoming of the Director General and representatives of the Baden-Württemberg region and the city of Karlsruhe. An award ceremony granting pupils with best artwork about the implication of the Treaties in the daily life will be part of the celebrations. The event will be concluded by DG V. Šucha with the 20 years medal ceremony of JRC Karlsruhe staff.
