The JRC, in collaboration with Regione Lombardia, Piemonte, the FAO and ENSA, will hold a three-day exhibition in the Cascina Triulza of the Expo site from 7 to 9 August 2015, to present the importance of soil to the life and well-being of people and their environment.

The exhibition will show many of the valuable services that soil provides, including the production of food, feed and fibre. No soil, no food!

The exhibition will also have a strong local flavour emphasising the diversity of soils in the regions of Lombardy, Piedmont and Emilia Romagna, together with the range of products that depend on specific soil characteristics.

The displays will be very interactive and fun for all the family.

The exhibition is divided into seven main themes:

  • Soils of Northern Italy
  • Soils of Europe
  • Soil biology
  • Soil and Food Security
  • Children's Activity Corner
  • International Year of Soils exhibit
  • Related displays by collaborating partners, including LegaAmbiente, the European Network on Soil Awareness and others.

Come along and be inspired!
