We are doing science for policy
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is the European Commission's science and knowledge service which employs scientists to carry out research in order to provide independent scientific advice and support to EU policy.
The JRC, in collaboration with Regione Lombardia, Piemonte, the FAO and ENSA, will hold a three-day exhibition in the Cascina Triulza of the Expo site from 7 to 9 August 2015, to present the importance of soil to the life and well-being of people and their environment.
The exhibition will show many of the valuable services that soil provides, including the production of food, feed and fibre. No soil, no food!
The exhibition will also have a strong local flavour emphasising the diversity of soils in the regions of Lombardy, Piedmont and Emilia Romagna, together with the range of products that depend on specific soil characteristics.
The displays will be very interactive and fun for all the family.
