We are doing science for policy
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is the European Commission's science and knowledge service which employs scientists to carry out research in order to provide independent scientific advice and support to EU policy.
The EuroScience Open Forum 2016 (ESOF) will bring together over 4,500 leading thinkers, innovators, policy makers, journalists and educators from more than 90 countries, to discuss current and future breakthroughs in contemporary science.
The JRC will take part part in 7 scientific sessions, which illustrate its role as an active player in the global arena and its multidisciplinary competence. More information on each of the individuals sessions can be found on the links below.

In addition to the main science programme, ESOF 2016 will include an exhibition area, and the Science in the City Festival will run simultaneously with side events in the city.
The JRC will be present at the European Commission's stand in the 'Garden of the Future' area showcasing its scientific activity on soil.
