JRC youth programme - digital school project

In its efforts to support schools, students and teachers, the JRC is developing a digital school project.

This includes a series of free and accessible Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).

Are you a secondary school teacher willing to share with your students what the European Union is doing in the field of science and research?

Do you need relevant, up-to-date and professionally curated contents to use in your classes?

Learn about how science benefits our daily lives

Every year, we in the JRC welcome almost 10.000 visitors. People come to learn about our research activities and how science benefits our daily lives and the life of our planet.

Many of our visitors are students and we organise dedicated programmes for schools. Programmes include visits of our laboratories and discussions with our scientists.

The COVID-19 pandemic challenged us to want to achieve more.

In these times, we want to offer teachers and educators new practices, online solutions and contents.

Hence, we develop dedicated digital contents and tools for on-line and digital education.

"Explore”, “practice” and “engage” in MOOCs

We have been working on the creation of a series of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).We designed our MOOCs together with teachers who know their students' needs.

We divided courses into different self-standing modules. Those modules follow the paths “explore”, “practice” and “engage” to help reach the learning objectives.

The EU recognises the importance of education about environment and sustainability. So, our MOOCs will focus on scientific themes in line with the goals of the “European Green Deal”.

They will be accessible free of charge on the EU Academy.

We will post more information as soon as the first modules will be ready.

Stay tuned for more on this topic, right here and very soon!
