We are doing science for policy
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is the European Commission's science and knowledge service which employs scientists to carry out research in order to provide independent scientific advice and support to EU policy.
The European Forum for Science and Industry has some 550 members, including:
Over 50 science organisations;
78 European associations;
Policy makers (European Institutions, National authorities);
Others (consulting companies, NGOs, etc.).
The Forum is managed by the European Commission's Joint Research Centre in close cooperation with the Directorate-General (DG) for Enterprise & Industry, and with the participation of DG Research & Innovation, DG Energy, DG Communications Networks, Content and Technology, DG Mobility & Transport and DG Health and Consumers.
European Forum for Science and Industry's tools:
Initiatives: launched by Conferences, they are organised aiming to identify where scientific support should be targeted for the benefit of EU industry;
Roundtables: serve as a platform for addressing current issues for the European industry in the form of scientific level discussions on specific items;
Newsletter: it includes information on JRC activities related to industry needs, updates on innovative examples from science and industry as well as announcements of upcoming events from both the JRC and its partners. Subscribe to the Newsletter;
