JRC-IPTS sets itself the objective of consistently delivering high value research results to its institutional customers complying with the highest professional standards.
The Institute's scientific and policy publications are constantly consulted, reviewed and confronted by third parties, both from academic and public administration spheres.
Apart from its use for European Commission services, EU Institutions and EU Member States, IPTS policy work is cited by major international organisations and bodies such as the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the World Bank and also non-governmental organisations.
Its scientific contributions are recorded in major bibliographic databases in their respective fields of expertise such as Scopus or Repec, where hundreds of IPTS titles are available. Every year, several dozens of publications produced at IPTS are peer-reviewed and selected for publication in specialised scientific journals.
From an organisation perspective, the Institute works on improving its performance continuously via a Quality Management System compliant with the ISO 9001:2008 standard. It also examines its environmental performance based on compliance with the ISO 14001:2004 standard.
