This e-learning course on Knowledge Transfer is mainly dedicated to University and Research Center's scientists and researchers.
Knowledge Transfer can be defined as all those activities focused on sharing skills, knowledge, technologies, and facilities among industries, universities, governments and other institutions. This in turn, facilitates scientific and technological developments, which are widely accessible, thus enabling further development and exploitation of the technology.
The goal of this learning module is to introduce scientists and researchers to some of the important foundations of knowledge and technology transfer. After completing this e-learning course, the learner should be able to understand how to:
• protect technical invention;
• exploit it; and
• bring it to market.
This course consists of 7 chapters: Technology Scouting; Technology and Market Assessment; IP Protection & Management; IP Promotion; Negotiation; Commercialisation and Market.
A simulation of the daily activities of a University's technology transfer office will guide the learners into the interesting world of the Knowledge Transfer from research through to market.
Multiple choice questions tests at the end of each chapter, will help the learners assess and gage their understanding of the course.
