The European Commission Representation in Ireland is organising a Seminar on the European Semester 2019 Country Report for Ireland on Thursday morning (9.30am to 12pm), 14 March at Europe House, 12-14 Lower Mount Street, Dublin 2.

The event will include detailed presentations on the Country Report from Carlos Martinez Mongay, Deputy Director General of the Commission's Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs, and from Gregorio de Castro, Directorate General for Employment and Social Affairs.

Following the presentations, the floor will be opened for an interactive discussion/Q&A.

Date:
14/03/2019 - 09:30 to 12:00

The European Commission published on 27 February the 2019 Country Report for Ireland (and all Member States). The Report presents the Commission's analysis of Ireland's economic and social challenges and opportunities and evaluates responses to the 2018 country-specific recommendations as well as progress towards the country's Europe 2020 targets.

While the Country Report is not a policy document – i.e. includes no policy recommendations – it is designed to deliver a robust evidence-base for consideration of the key policy challenges and provide input for the development of Ireland's National Reform Programme and Stability Programme Update in the light of which the Commission will issue the 2019 country-specific recommendations (CSRs) in May.

The Country Report for Ireland can be downloaded here.
