What is the publication?
101 Ideas on the future of research and innovation in Europe is a collection of proposals to stimulate debate on the future of research and innovation policy in Europe. The ideas arise from a year long series of meetings, the Tour d’Europe, where experts from the RISE and ESIR met with their counterparts from across Europe.
The book includes a panoply of thoughts and suggestions, reflecting a myriad national perspectives and the individual histories of research and innovation in each country. It is inspired by President Juncker’s wish to have a wide and open debate on the Future of Europe.
What was Tour d’Europe?
RISE, together with their counterparts in ESIR (Expert group on societal impact of research and innovation) spent a year discussing with national think tanks and policy experts in cities across the Europe.
The discussions took as their starting point the policy reflections contained in the 2017 RISE book Europe’s future: Open innovation, open science and open to the world.
