The EGE Committee Members

The Identification Committee assisted the Commission in 2016 in selecting the members of the EGE. Its three members are Ewa Bartnik, Vololona Rabeharisoa and Göran Hermeren.

Ewa Bartnik

She is Professor at the Polish Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics and Professor of molecular biology and human genetics at the University of Warsaw. She served as Secretary General of the Polish Genetics Society, and is the former Vice-Chair of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Bioethics Committee.

Vololona Rabeharisoa

She is Professor of sociology and senior researcher at the Centre de Sociologie de l'Innovation of the Ecole des Mines de Paris. Specializing in Science and Technology Studies, her research interests span the diverse and increasing involvement of civil society organizations in scientific and technical activities, notably in the field of biomedicine.

Göran Hermeren

He is the former Chair of the EGE (2002-2011) and is Senior Professor of medical ethics at Lund University. He has held various advisory roles both nationally and internationally and is currently chair of the Permanent Working Group on Science and Ethics of ALLEA. His wide research interests centre on ethical problems in medicine.
