These statistics are based on information provided by Member States to the Commission between March 2019 and October 2019, in accordance with the standard questionnaire contained in Council document 11356/13 of 24 June 2013.
The questionnaire covers quantitative information from Member States dealing with EAWs both as issuing States and as executing States. It consists of data related to, inter alia, the number of EAWs issued and executed, the number of persons arrested, the types of offences covered, applied grounds for non-execution and the duration of the surrender proceedings. These data provide a basis for statistical analysis, enable comparisons between Member States and provide an overall picture of the operation of the EAW. This information helps improve the operation of the EAW.
