1. SERVICE DESCRIPTION
The DG JUSTICE Newsletter on funding opportunities & funded projects is produced at least four/six times per year to inform the general public about the implementation of the Justice and REC (Rights, Equality and Citizenship) Programmes via email and it will also be available on the Europa website.
2. WHY, WHAT, HOW, AND FOR HOW LONG TIME YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS COLLECTED?

In order to receive the newsletter, you must subscribe on a dedicated subscription page. All personal data is stored in the EU Newsroom application. EU Newsroom is a news management system developed by the European Commission.
The mandatory personal data (e-mail address) is needed to ensure the delivery of the service to the subscriber, as the Newsletter is sent by e-mail. The optional personal data (Last Name, First Name, Sector, and Country of residence) is useful to the Commission for statistical purposes and for better targeting the content of the Newsletter.
No other information at any moment is transferred to other systems, exported from the newsletter or otherwise further treated.
How Long: The EU Newsroom keeps only the current state of data. No history is saved. Each change of you subscription erases instantly previous data; this includes also cancelling your subscription(s).
Personal data will be retained for a period of three years after the newsletter services you have subscribed to have ceased to operate, and then remove it permanently. If you unsubscribe, your personal data is permanently deleted. If you modify your email, no history or previous versions are kept.
3. HOW DO WE PROTECT AND SAFEGUARD YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
The EU Newsroom is developed, maintained and managed by the European Commission.
All information related to the content and users of EU Newsroom is stored in databases on the servers (all located on the EU territory) in the European Commission Data Centre (ran by DIGIT), the operations of which abide by the Commission's security decisions and provisions established by the Directorate of Security for this kind of servers and services.
The relevant processing operations are under the responsibility of the Head of the Unit 04 Programme and Financial Management (JUST 04), Directorate-General Justice and Consumers, acting as the Controller.
As this online service collects and further processes personal data, Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data by the Union institutions, bodies, offices and agencies and on the free movement of such data, is applicable.
4. HOW CAN YOU VERIFY, MODIFY OR DELETE YOUR INFORMATION?
You can verify which personal data is stored on your behalf, have it modified, respectively corrected or deleted, by contacting this functional mailbox: JUST-04-NEWSLETTER@ec.europa.eu.
