The Economic Benefits of Improving Efficiency in Public Spending on Education in the European Union

Description

In this paper we ask what the gain in GDP per capita could be if the public money available for education were used according to best practice across the EU. We provide a quantitative measure based on a ‘back-of-the-envelope’ calculation combining two different estimates from the literature.
