EU Funding for Roma integration

For the 2014-2020 period, Croatia will receive a total of €8 billion in EU funds, out of which €5.8 billion will come from the European Social Fund (ESF) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Of this amount, at least 24.6% will be spent on the ESF, with 20% of that going to the promotion of social inclusion and combating poverty. The latter could also finance Roma-related measures.

National Roma integration strategy

Croatia’s national strategy is based on long-standing experience of Roma inclusion issues under the national Roma programme. This includes the need for better vertical co-operation, as well as improved co-ordination between departments and stakeholders. The strategy addresses the 4 key areas of education, employment, healthcare and housing, as well as citizenship rights, poverty and social welfare.
