What is the Data 4 Healthy Recovery Accelerator?

To accelerate the commercialisation of smart health solutions, 12 teams went through the Data 4 Healthy Recovery Accelerator. The programme provided the teams with personalised dedicated support to develop their solutions and implement them. The intensive 3-month long accelerator was full of workshops and one-on-one coaching sessions with industry experts and technical mentors. It was a unique chance for the teams to transform initial prototypes into innovative solutions that could be brought to market to tackle current smart health industry challenges.

The programme featured constant mentoring by lead, design, technical and on-demand mentors, and two high-intensity training sprints over the 3 months. The teams started the acceleration process at the end of June and the final showcase of their solutions was held on 22 September.

The Acceleration programme had two parts. The first one focused on shaping the idea and business model and building a value proposition. To involve a wider audience, the programme held Public Talk No. 1 with accomplished industry expert Daren Wilson, General Manager at Roche Slovakia, via Facebook live. He discussed collaboration between corporations and start-ups in healthcare and held an hour-long exclusive Q&A session with the teams.

The second part focused on technical aspects and the business plan. As launching a new product or service is time consuming and expensive, the teams were asked to dig deeper into their financial plans, sales strategy, and marketing. Public Talk No.2 was held on 9 September and the speaker was Priit Kruus, CEO and cofounder of Dermtest. During the one-hour live event, he talked about how a smart health business can find the right product-market fit.

The programme┬┤s final event, the Data 4 Healthy Recovery Demo Day, was held on 22 September. The teams got the chance to present their solutions through pitch competition to investors and industry experts. To provide the audience with a successful start-up founder story, Michael Burich, co-founder and COO of Synctuition, was invited to the studio for an interview. The interview covered the crucial aspects of developing a global scale meditation app and his exciting journey in the healthcare business.
