Biography

Ola Elvestuen (born October 1967) was appointed Minister of Climate and Environment in January 2018 after having served as Member of Parliament and leader of the Energy and the Environment Committee since 2013.

Prior to this, he served as Chair of the Standing Committee on Urban Development from 2003 - 2011 and later as Vice Mayor for Environment and Transport from 2011-2013 at Oslo City Council.

Elvestuen is the deputy leader of the Liberal Party of Norway.

He graduated from the University of Oslo having studied social anthropology, political science and history.
