The Commission reports annually on the functioning of the Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform.
The ODR platform, launched in February 2016 helps consumers and traders resolve their disputes about online purchases without going to court - by connecting them with alternative (i.e. out-of-court) dispute resolution bodies.
The Commission has also conducted research that examined the websites of 20,000 EU online traders and marketplaces to assess whether they comply with their legal obligation to put a link to the ODR platform and an email address on their website.
