This has been a special edition co-organised with the Committee of the Regions. The 2-day conference took stock of the different SET Plan initiatives with a strong focus on the involvement of cities and regional actors towards the clean energy transition.
Over 350 participants representing cities, regional authorities, academia, industry, consumers and governments, attended the conference and exchanged views and experiences on how to improve synergies and collaboration between all these actors at national and European level.
Speakers had lively discussions on how to achieve the clean energy transition, looking in particular at the financing needs both at local and national level as well as at the main pathways to follow, including energy efficient buildings, the use of renewables at the scale of consumers and sustainable urban mobility. In this regard, participants had the opportunity to experience a free drive-test on hydrogen powered cars provided by Fuel Cells Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU).
The event included as well b2b match making sessions which facilitated participants and speakers to meet and exchange views, knowledge and experiences.
The conference concluded with the handover of the SET Plan “flag” from Romania to Finland, who will run the EU Presidency from July 2019.
