About this initiative

Summary

Under EU rules, governments of member countries must notify state subsidies to the Commission. They cannot grant the subsidy until it has been authorised by the Commission. However, subsidies that comply with the EU’s Block Exemption Regulation are exempt from this procedure.

The current Regulation expires on 31 December 2020 and therefore needs to be reviewed to ensure that any new Regulation is consistent with EU agricultural policy.
