About this initiative

Summary

EU rules on limited amounts of state aid (‘de minimis’ aid) for fishing and fish farming expire on 31 December 2020. Follow-up rules are needed so that it can still be managed in a simplified way.

The Commission will evaluate if the rules have achieved the stated objectives and ensure that the new rules align with the 2021-27 European Maritime and Fisheries Fund. Further amendments may be needed once these rules have been assessed.
