About this initiative

The TEN-T guidelines are to be evaluated in terms of the following pre-defined criteria:
• relevance
• effectiveness and efficiency
• what the EU contributes over and above national legislation
• how the guidelines fit with other EU policy areas.

A strong trans-European transport network means transport which is efficient, safe, smart and sustainable, which takes digitalisation on board and which addresses climate change.

The purpose of the evaluation is to assess progress made since the guidelines took effect. Key areas include:
• alternative clean fuels
• combining different means of transport (multi-modality)
• digitalisation.

For example, Orient/East-Med. and Scandinavian-Mediterranean Corridors...
