Why we are consulting

The purpose of this evaluation is to assess the performance of the Toy Safety Directive (2009/48/EC) in relation to its objectives. That is, ensuring a high level of toy safety and thus safeguarding children's health and safety, and guaranteeing the smooth functioning of the internal market. The evaluation will assess the effectiveness, efficiency, coherence with other legislation (both EU and Member States' national legislation), relevance and EU added value of the Directive.
