    I highly appreciate that the Commission is finally going to issue a regulation with the aim to reduce acrylamide contents in foodstuffs. Obviously, there is a need for a regulation since, according to the official monitoring data, the acrylamide contents in each product category are still not within the range that is technically feasible.
