At the International Translation Day seminar we will speak about translation in crisis situations, above all in the context of migration. We will take a look at the daily work of interpreters and translators of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency Frontex and the Estonian Police and Border Guard Board, and see how the work of the European Commission's translators is organized in situations that require quick action. Using real life examples, we’ll discuss the role and limitations of „front line“ interpreters and cultural mediators and ask ourselves how protected interpreters and translators themselves are when working under pressure and in delicate situations.

Registration until 29 September noon.
