POSTPONED to 2021- Slovakia, previously 23 September – new autumn 2021

This 1-day TEW will form an integral part of an international conference (Translation, Interpreting and Culture 2: Rehumanising Translation Studies) held in Banská Bystrica on 23-25 September 2020, which builds on the success of its previous edition in Nitra in 2018. 
The TEW will be held on the first day of the conference, promoted as a session of the conference co-organised with DGT. 

Topics that will be covered: 

  • introductory speech by keynote speaker Susan Bassnett dedicated to changes in culture and the importance of human factor in translation 
  • lectures on human factor in machine translation, post-editing, creativity in post editing and translation training, visibility of  translators in digital era 
  • workshops and discussions aimed at exchange of good practices and market needs with the representatives of the market (professional translator organisations, representatives of Slovak Association of Translation Agencies, individual translators, etc.
