This joint stakeholder meeting was co-hosted by the Group of Chief Scientific Advisors and European Commission services responsible for the Farm to Fork Strategy for Sustainable Food – a key component of the European Green Deal. The meeting was attended by representatives of a wide range of relevant stakeholder groups, scientific organisations, and policy makers involved in the development of the Farm to Fork strategy.
During the first part of the meeting, preliminary outputs of the SAPEA (Science Advice for Policy by European Academies) Evidence Review Report were presented as were areas under consideration for the scientific opinion by the Chief Scientific Advisors. The scientific opinion informs the development of the Farm to Fork Strategy. During the second part of the meeting, views were exchanged with stakeholders on the Farm to Fork strategy on the basis of the Roadmap.
Challenges, intervention areas and the possible regulatory or non-regulatory initiatives that are under consideration were discussed.
