It is expected that the stakeholder workshop will be attended by approximately 250 participants. Participants should include national, regional and local governments, environmental and other public bodies, representatives of the business and trade organisations, civil society, international organisations, academia and the research community.
During the public consultation underpinning the fitness check of the EU Ambient Air Quality Directives, stakeholders had the opportunity to contribute by filling out an online questionnaire via EU Survey. The responses to this questionnaire were taken into account in the evaluation. Please find here further information on the Public Consultation to support the Fitness Check of the EU Ambient Air Quality Directives. Detailed information on the fitness check and its consultation strategy is also available in DG ENV's Website.
Please note that this stakeholder workshop is part of the fitness check of the undertaken by the European Commission. This fitness check is looking at the performance and evaluated the implementation of the two complementary EU Ambient Air Quality Directives (Directives 2008/50/EC and 2004/107/EC). These Directives set air quality standards and requirements to ensure that Member States adequately monitor and/or assess air quality on their territory, in a harmonized and comparable manner. The fitness check is also considering the corresponding Implementing Decision 2011/850/EC and Commission Directive EU/2015/1480.
