Summary

The twenty-first edition of the SCIC-Universities conference focused on how to build capacities in and for a changing environment, and brought forward some thought-provoking but also some novel and stimulating ideas on interpretation training, academic cooperation and networking. "Interpreters cannot be replaced by computers or robots" said Commissioner Günther H. Oettinger in the inspirational opening address that he delivered on the first day of the event.
