Energy Storage 2018

Limited space – by invitation only

This high-level event will bring together representatives mainly from industry, research and the European Commission to discuss the role energy storage and sectoral integration can play in the transition to a low carbon economy. It follows on the proposals made in the Clean Energy for All Europeans Package and on the Staff Working Document on Energy Storage.

Sectorial integration is the linking of energy (electricity, gas and heat), transport and industrial infrastructure with the aim of boosting use of energy from renewable sources and decarbonising the economy. Together with energy storage, it has the potential to make the clean energy transition – which needs to cover all sectors of the economy – faster and more cost-effective.

The event will cover both technological and regulatory aspects of these issues, not only in relation to the energy market but also other sectors, with a view to developing an integrated approach in a dynamic business environment.
