On 14 September 2018, there was a very lively and constructive discussion on a range of EU issues at the Citizens' Dialogue in Nenagh Library.
Participants wanted to know more about what the EU and Government could do to tackle the problems facing rural Ireland, while also striking a positive tone on future opportunities.
The event was a useful opportunity to discuss ideas in President Juncker's State of the European Union speech. The event was organised by the newly established Nenagh Europe Direct Information Centre, with support from the Commission Representation.
The speakers were Gerry Kiely, Head of the European Commission Representation in Ireland; Thomas Ryan, Irish Farmers' Association; Clodagh Cavanagh, Managing Director Abbey Machinery; and Conor Ryan, CEO Arrabawn. MEP Deidre Clune spoke from the audience. Feedback was extremely positive.
