Circular Economy Package
The Circular Economy Package consists of an EU Action Plan for the Circular Economy that establishes a concrete and ambitious programme of action, with measures covering the whole cycle: from production and consumption to waste management and the market for secondary raw materials.
Within the partnership of the Urban Agenda for the EU on circular economy, cities, EU countries and the European Commission seek to identify innovative solutions to stimulate the re-use, repair, refurbishment and recycling of existing materials and products.

EU legislation
The European Commission's Circular Economy Package includes revised legislative proposals on waste to stimulate Europe's transition towards a circular economy which will boost global competitiveness, foster sustainable economic growth and generate new jobs.
The proposed actions will contribute to "closing the loop" of product lifecycles through greater recycling and re-use, and bring benefits for both the environment and the economy.
Here are the key legislative documents relating to the implementation of the Circular Economy:
Directive 2008/98/EC on waste and repealing certain Directives
Directive 2006/66/EC on batteries and accumulators and waste batteries and accumulators
Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment
Directive 2001/81/EC on national emission ceilings for certain atmospheric pollutants
