The amount offered to study interpretation varies and is dependent on which country you study in:

  • €2,400 for studying in an EU country
  • €1,600 for studying in any other country

Eligibility requirements

You may be eligible for a bursary if you:

  • are enrolled on a master's degree in conference interpreting or are in the final year of a course leading to one
  • are a national of an EU country or of one of the candidate countries (Albania, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia or Turkey)
  • have one of the following active languages: Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Irish, Lithuanian, Maltese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovene or Turkish (subject to revision)
  • have any additional language which would bring your combination in line with ‘the preferential profiles’
