Stakeholders who already contributed by responding to the ecodesign consultation forum meetings on 'DG GROW Lot5 products', which took place on 6 May 2014 and 25 October 2017, can be reassured that their original contribution is still valid. They are welcome to contribute further if they wish to do so.

Objective of the consultation

This public consultation is on potential measures to regulate the environmental impact of machine tools and welding equipment.

The aim is to gather further views and opinions from EU countries, other public authorities, industry groups and NGOs, and other interested organisations.

This public consultation will ultimately inform the evaluation and impact assessment prepared by the Commission in the preparation of regulations specific to these product groups.

How to submit your response

We kindly invite respondents to provide their contributions through the online questionnaire (EUSurvey).

The questionnaire is available in all EU official languages except Gaelic. Replies are welcome in any official language of the European Union.

In the interest of transparency, organisations are invited to provide the public with relevant information about themselves by registering in the transparency register and subscribing to its code of conduct. If the organisation is not registered, the submission is published separately from the registered organisations.

Discussion documents and information about the specific Ecodesign proposals on machine tools and welding equipment can be obtained accessing the document exchange platform CIRCABC. Access to CIRCABC (and to the group 'Ecodesign of energy related products (ErP) - consultation forum') requires user registration on the website. All information on the proposal can be found in the DG GROW ecodesign library section, under the product group 'Machine tools – ENTR Lot 5'.
