Stakeholders who already contributed by sending feedback/position papers on the the 'Ecodesign consultation forum (on servers and data storage products)' of 17 February 2017 and the 'SME panel questionnaire for servers and storage SMEs in the EU (May-July 2016)' can be reassured that their original contribution is still valid. They are welcome to contribute further if they wish to do so.

Objective of the consultation

This public consultation takes place in the context of the initiative 'Potential measures for regulating the environmental impact of enterprise servers and data storage products'.

The consultation of various stakeholder categories aims at offering them the opportunity to contribute to the exercise and at providing relevant and robust information in a structured way. More in detail, this open public consultation is launched with the aim to collect stakeholders' views on issues such as the expected effect of potential legislative measures on businesses and on energy consumption in the sector of servers and data storage products.

The consultation results will inform the Commission's legislative proposal.
