Target group

All individuals and organisations are invited to respond to this consultation.

Objective of the consultation

The consultation aims to collect views on how the urban waste water treatment directive (Council Directive 91/271/EEC concerning urban waste water treatment), has affected urban waste water collection and treatment across the EU and thereby improved the state of our water bodies and the environment in general.

The consultation has as objective on the one hand to gather general views from the public on their understanding and relation with (waste) water and on the other hand to gather more detailed information and opinions from experts and public and private entities in charge of implementation on the specificities of the directive.

How to submit your response

You can contribute to this public consultation by filling out the online questionnaire via EU Survey.

The questionnaire is accessible in all official EU languages (except Irish). Replies may be submitted in any EU official language.

The questionnaire has two parts. One part aimed at the general public, and one part with more detailed, technical questions aimed at experts. You are invited to reply to both parts of the questionnaire, but you may reply to only one of the parts if you wish.

It will take about 20-30 minutes to answer the questionnaire. You may pause the questionnaire at any time and continue later. Once you have submitted your answers, you can download a copy of your completed responses.

Questions marked with an asterisk are compulsory.

The final question gives the opportunity for documentary evidence submission.

All contributions that are received will be published on the internet. It is important that you read the specific privacy statement attached to this consultation for information on how your personal data and contribution will be dealt with.

If you are a registered organisation, please fill in your Register ID number in the questionnaire. Your contribution will then be considered as representing the views of your organisation.

During the analysis of replies to a consultation, contributions from respondents who choose not to register will be treated as individual contributions (unless the contributors are recognised as representative stakeholders through Treaty provisions, European Social Dialogue, Art. 154-155 TFEU).
