The consultation period is over. The public consultation received 446 replies. Some of the respondents have chosen to also upload a position paper to further explain their views. A total of 121 position papers have been received.

All EU citizens, businesses and organisations interested in the evolution of the digital economy are welcome to contribute to this consultation. The answers you provide as part of the consultation will form an important part of the Commission’s analysis and future proposals. In this way, this is your chance to contribute to policy making.
The Commission will consult national tax authorities, experts and other key stakeholders separately. Nevertheless, if you represent any of these categories, you are still welcome to contribute to this public consultation.
Objective of the consultation
The objective of the initiative is to define an approach to the taxation of the digital economy. The approach should meet the goals of fairer and more effective taxation, supporting public revenue and a level playing field across businesses. It should also facilitate an efficient taxation, supporting EU growth and competitiveness through the Digital Single Market.
How to submit your response

The questionnaire takes about 20 minutes to complete. The questionnaire is accessible in all official EU languages (please note that due to the translation process, with the exception of the English version, all language versions will be available online 2 weeks later, from the moment the consultation is launched).
Some questions require expert knowledge and you are welcome to answer only some of the questions included. At the end of the questionnaire you will have the possibility to upload a document/position paper.
