The autumn package includes:

Commission's Annual Sustainable Growth Strategy

The Annual Sustainable Growth Survey (ASGS) outlines the economic and employment policy priorities for the EU for the coming 12 to 18 months. From the 2020 Semester cycle on, the ASGS is structured around four dimensions: environmental sustainability, productivity, fairness, macroeconomic stability.

Alert Mechanism Report

The Alert Mechanism Report screens, based on a scoreboard of indicators, which Member States may be affected by economic imbalances and for which the Commission should undertake further in-depth reviews.

It launches the annual Macroeconomic Imbalances Procedure (MIP), which aims to prevent or address imbalances that hinder the smooth functioning of national economies of the euro area or of the EU as a whole.

Joint Employment Report

The report analyses the employment and social situation in Europe and the policy responses of national governments.

Recommendation for the euro area

The recommendation addresses issues critical to the functioning of the single currency area and suggests concrete measures that national governments can implement. This ensures that euro area and national issues are included in the EU economic governance planning.

Commission's opinion on draft budgetary plans for euro area countries

The opinion assesses the compliance of draft budgetary plans for the coming year with the requirements of the Stability and Growth Pact (SGP). It is accompanied by a Commission Communication that provides a horizontal overview of the budgetary outlook for the euro area as a whole as well as policy guidance on the appropriate fiscal stance for the euro area.
