Preliminary Planning Services new high speed rail line Dresden-Prague
The Action refers to a global project on development of a new high-speed railway line from Dresden (DE) to Prague (CZ). This rail connection belongs to the railway axis TEN-T 22 (Athens–Sofia–Budapest–Vienna–Prague–Nuremberg/Dresden) and the TEN-T core network corridor Orient/East-Med (Hamburg/Rostock–Berlin–Praha–Wien/Bratislava-Budapest–Sofia-Burgas-TR border–Athina-Piraeus–Lefkosia).
The Action concerns preparatory studies which will cover the cross-border section Heidenau-Ústí nad Labem-Litomerice. They will in particular look into environmental, technological, economic, legal and time requirements necessary for the construction of the high speed line. The results of the preparatory studies will be used for future technical and spatial planning in the Czech Republic and will be included in Germany's future national transport infrastructure plan.
The completion of the Global Project will generate positive socio-economic effects, particularly shorter travel times and a smaller environmental footprint.
The Action is closed.
