Ronco-Canepa combi-terminal extension and renewal of the ancillary intermodal infrastructure
The Action concerns the land reclamation of the sea basin between the Canepa and Ronco piers and the building up and revamping of port infrastructures ancillary to the new terminal, in particular a new rail connection. The Action aims at creating a new multipurpose terminal, built and equipped with higher technical and operational standards, in order to respond to the new market requirements.
The main result expected by the Action is a significant expansion of the port supply. The new combi terminal will be characterized by a unique berth line of 640 metres able to accommodate one 8,000 TEUs containership or at the same time two container ships with a capacity up to 5,000 TEUs taking advantage of depth equal to 15 metres.
