Road 2009-ES-08092-E

Express Route SE-40 (Seville) - Section Coria del Rio-Dos Hermanas (North and South tunnels)

Programme:

This action concerns the construction of the road section Dos Hermanas (A-4)-Coria del Río (A-8058), in the scope of the construction of the third part of the Seville Ring Road (SE-40), part of Priority Project 8 (Multimodal axis Portugal/Spain-rest of Europe).

This ring road around the metropolitan area of Seville will function as a bypass, particularly for long-haul traffic, contributing to reduce traffic congestion in Seville. It will also improve international transport conditions to ports in southern Spain, notably Cádiz and Algeciras.

The action only covers the initial period of construction (years 2009 and 2010) of the following two sub-sections:

  • Dos Hermanas-Coria del Río: South tunnel
  • Dos Hermanas-Coria del Río: North tunnel

The project has now been completed.
